Button Factory

Hi
My name is Joe
And I work
At
A button factory
I've got a wife, and a dog, and family
One day
My boss came up to me
He said, "Hi Joe,
Are you busy?" I said "No."
Push the button with your left hand.

...Push the button with your right hand.

...Push the button with your left foot.

...Push the button with your right foot.

...Push the button with your head.

...Push the button with your tongue.

Buffalo Song

Out on the windswept desert
Where nature knows no man
A buffalo spied his brother
A-lying in the sand
Said the buffalo to his brother:
"What makes you lie that way?"
But the buffalo didn't answer
He's been dead since way last May
Since way last May

Brass Rings

I like to catch brass rings on the merry-go-round
The merry-go-round that's me
Some like to play croquet
Or embroider
Or crochet
But I like to participate in my own way
I like the hobbly horse on the merry-go-round
The one that goes up and down
And my sweetie in the rear
Says I ride like Paul Revere
On the merry, the merry-go-round
This is the last time
The merry, the merry-go-round
I fooled you that time
The merry, the merry-go-round.

A Boy and a Girl

A boy and a girl in a little canoe
With the moon shinin' all around
They paddled and paddled
For miles and miles
Couldn't even hear a sound

They talked and they talked till the moon grew dim
The boy said you better kiss me or get out and swim
Well what you gonna do in a little canoe
With the moon shinin' all a-
Boy swimmin' all a-
Girl paddling all around.

Bow-Legged Chicken

I'm a bow-legged chicken
I'm a knock-kneed hen
Never been so happy since I don't know when
I walk with a wiggle and a squiggle and a squawk
Doing the Tennessee wig-walk.

Sippin' Cider

The cutest boy

I ever saw

Was sippin' ci-

der through a straw

The cutest boy I ever saw
Was sippin' cider through a straw

I asked him if

He'd show me how

To sip my ci-

der through a straw

I asked him if he'd show me how
To sip my cider through a straw

He said he would

He'd show me how

To sip my ci-

der through a straw

He said he would he'd show me how
To sip my cider through a straw

First cheek to cheek

Then jaw to jaw

We sipped our ci-

der through a straw

First cheek to cheek then jaw to jaw
We sipped our cider through a straw

Then suddenly

That straw did slip

And we sipped our ci-

der lip to lip

Then suddenly that straw did slip
And we sipped our cider lip to lip

That's how I got

My mother-in-law

And fourteen kids

That call me 'Ma'

That's how I got my mother-in-law
And fourteen kids that call me 'Ma'

The moral of

This little tale

Is to sip your ci-

der from a pail

The moral of this little tale

The Marvelous Toy

When I was just a wee young lad, full of health and joy
My father homeward came one night and gave to me a toy
A wonder to behold it was, with many colors bright
And the moment I laid eyes on it, it became my heart's delight.

*It went zip when moved
And bop when it stopped
And whirr when it stood still
I never knew just what it was
And I guess I never will*

The first time that I picked it up, I had a big surprise
Cuz right on the bottom were two big buttons that looked like big green eyes
I first pushed one and then the other, and then I twisted its lid
And when I set it down again, this is what it did:

*Chorus*

It first marched left and then marched right, and then marched under a chair
And when I looked where it had gone, it wasn't even there
I started to cry but my dad, he laughed, cuz he knew that I would find
When I turned around my marvelous toy would be chugging from behind.

*Chorus*

The years have gone by too quickly it seems, I have my own little boy
And yesterday I gave to him my marvelous little toy
His eyes nearly popped right out of his head and he gave a squeal of glee
Neither one of us knows just what it is but he loves it just like me.

And it still goes zip when it moves
And bop when it stops
Whirr when it stands still
I still don't know just what it is
And I guess I never will.

My Paddle's Keen and Bright

My paddle's keen and bright
Flashing with silver
Follow the wild goose flight
Dip dip and swing

Dip dip and swing her back
Flashing with silver
Follow the wild goose flight
Dip dip and swing

Farewell to a Friend

It's the saddest thing I've ever known
And I've seen a lot of sorrow
To know that I'll have to face life alone
When I start the path tomorrow.

*And if you've ever known
The feeling of sadness
To say farewell, farewell
Farewell to a friend*

So you find someone new and you think
That they might take the place
Till you realize all you're searching for
Is that same sorry face.

*Chorus*

Dona Dona

On a wagon bound for market
There's a calf with a mournful eye
High above him there's a swallow
Winging softly through the sky

*How the winds are laughing (laughing)
They laugh with all their might
Laugh and laugh the whole day through
And half the summer's night

Dona dona doena doe-na
Dona dona doena doen
Dona dona doena doe-na
Dona dona doena doen*

Stop complaining said the farmer
Who told you a calf to be
Why don't you have wings to fly with
Like the swallow so proud and free

*Chorus*

Calves are easily bound and slaughtered
Never knowing the reason why
But whoever treasures freedom
Like the swallow has to learned to fly

*Chorus*

When you're young and when you're lively
Like the swallow you learn to fly
But when you grow old and weary
Like the calf you must learn to die.

*Chorus*
